[嬰兒] newborn shoot with baby Jonas @ 10 days

It's been a long while since my last blog post here, being sick means I'm stuck at home.

There are no better time to make a post.... so here it is.

Any photographer in the World would agree that lighting is everything!

When it comes down to newborn shots I always make sure no flash are involved.

I know for a fact that plenty of newborn photographers out there use flash, not limited to budget photographers. Tones of premium photographers do as well.

a quick google search will tell you that using flash on newborns (generally under 3 months old, some extended to 6 months old) will have negative impact on eyesight development, not going to dig into this.

while undoubtedly the use of flash gives that great control on lighting and produces exceptional results, no offence to any flash newborn photographers reading this. I choose to avoid flash purely because I figured I don't want to take great pictures at an expense of doing any potential harm to baby's eyes development.

having said that, it is just my personal choice. There is no right or wrong, just rather playing safe than sorry!

If you are a parent to be, the choice is yours.

Not going to lie and say natural light on newborn is the king.. bla bla bla... the best thing about it is the peace of mind. (for newborn anyway)

down side of available light is the lack of control. There are still ways to make good use of it. but it will never be as easy to maneuver as using flash.

disclaimer: only natural light was used. no baby eyes were harm in the making of above images.
